What is a priority fee on Solana?
Priority fee: An extra fee that pushes your transaction ahead of others in the same block.
When many buys of the same token arrive in the same second, the network processes the ones that pay more first (priority fee or Jito tip). Sniper bots pay more than a normal buyer, so they always get in first, at a lower price. Your buy lands after them, pushes the price up, and the bots sell to you. That is why calls from the most famous influencers are hard to profit from.
Example
A normal buyer pays 0.0001 SOL in fees, a bot pays 0.01 SOL: the bot is first in the block.
