What is a KOL in crypto?

KOL (key opinion leader): An influencer, usually on X (Twitter) or Telegram, whose posts move token prices.

When a KOL calls a token, their followers buy and the price often jumps, sometimes only for minutes. Some KOLs are early and right; others are paid to bring buyers while insiders sell. MemeSonar measures every call: how much the price and volume moved after it, how often the token rugged and whether the KOL was late.
