Best crypto and Solana APIs in 2026: RPC, token data and prices
Prices checked 1 November 2026 · 6 tools compared · MemeSonar research
Short answer
For Solana RPC and webhooks, Helius (free 1M credits, Developer $49/month) is the default; QuickNode (Build $49/month) if you need many chains. For token data start with the free DexScreener API, then Birdeye (from $99) or Solana Tracker (from €50). For prices of listed coins, CoinGecko (free demo, Basic $35/month). This is the stack MemeSonar itself runs on.
If you build anything on crypto data, a trading bot, an alert channel, a dashboard, you need two kinds of API: an RPC node to read the blockchain and send transactions, and a data API that has already turned raw transactions into prices, pools, holders and trades. We run MemeSonar on these APIs every day, so this page also tells you what we use and where the free tiers stopped working for us.
Basic $35 (100k calls), Analyst $129 (500k), Lite $499 (2M), Pro $999 (5M+)

Monthly price of the first paid plan. Credits are not comparable between vendors (each counts calls differently), so compare the price, then test your own calls on the free tier.

Watch out: New meme coins appear only once listed; from cloud servers we hit rate limits on the free tier.
How to choose
Solana-only? Helius has the best Solana extras: webhooks, parsed transactions, DAS for tokens and NFTs.
Many chains? QuickNode covers dozens of chains on one account.
Token prices and pools for new tokens: DexScreener's free API, Birdeye, or Solana Tracker.
Listed coins (BTC, SOL, big meme coins): CoinGecko's API.
Cloud servers get blocked. Some free APIs block datacenter IPs; we saw GeckoTerminal fail from our cloud host. Test from where your bot runs.

Is the DexScreener API free?
Yes, no key needed, with rate limits of roughly 60 to 300 requests per minute depending on the endpoint.
Is the CoinGecko API free?
There is a free Demo plan with 10,000 calls a month. Paid plans start at $35/month (Basic, 100,000 calls).
What does MemeSonar use?
